Children's Portraiture

"You cannot catch a child's spirit by running after it; you must stand still and for love it will soon return."
 -Arthur Miller

Do you remember the first time you saw your child's face?
Do you remember the first time your newborn smiled at you?
Do you remember their first day of school?....the first tooth that they lost?

Of course you do.  These are some of the strongest and most inspiring moments that you can have as a parent.  A young child is the most precious of all gifts, and these moments, while strong, are fleeting moments.

As a parent, I know how quickly they grow up.  However, as a parent who has also lost a young child, I also know how important it is to capture these memories so that they last forever.  My daughter, Sarah, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 2, and all I have left are memories and the portraits that I created of her.

That is one reason why I take extra delight in creating portraits of young children.  My goal is to create images that create the same response as when you first saw your newborn child, or when your child proudly exclaimed that they had lost their first tooth.  While I certainly do love photographing my own children, I also love capturing those special gestures and the delicate features of any child...your child.

Springtime Respite

I take a lot of pride in presenting a child's portrait to parent, knowing that it will become prized by those parents
and will provide many happy memories in the years to come.
Photographs taken at discount department stores simply show you a "road map of your child's face"
and show you what they looked like at the time the photograph was taken.
However, with a superior portrait done by a skilled photographer, the personality of the child comes out immediately.

We will never be able to recreate the different milestones that children reach as they grow up: sitting up for the first time...
taking those first steps...starting school for the first time.

But those moments can be captured in a portrait that will help tell the story and provide everlasting memories.

Whether it's with Luke Photography, or with a discount department store, don't wait until tomorrow to have your child's portrait taken.....
you'll never regret the decision.

Portrait sittings with your newborn child will be taken in their first year at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months old, again at 18 months, then once each year from the age of 2 on up.

When you sign up for the Children's Lifetime Album, you will receive the leather-bound album when the prints from the first sitting are presented to you.  You will receive a free 5x7 print after each sitting for your Lifetime Album, which will contain 12 pages, allowing you to showcase 24 prints. Even if your children are past the newborn stage, there is no reason you can't start a Lifetime Album right now.

After four portrait sittings with your child, you will receive a 16x20 print from any of the previous four sittings, compliments of Luke Photography.
In addition, you will receive a complimentary 16x20 print after each additional four portrait sittings.
