Whether it's a young adult's coming of age, a loving couple's engagement, or the creation of an important moment in your family's history, portraits play an important part in developing memories and a legacy.

From personal experience, I can tell you there is no guarantee of another tomorrow, and there is no time like the present to capture these moments forever.  The perfect portrait shows the essence and personality of the people involved, and doesn't necessarily have to show a wide smile.

How would you like to be portrayed?

Portrait Tips

How will you use and display the photographs?
Wall-sized portraits should be able to be viewed from across the room, and generally should be
no smaller than 16x20. Table-top portraits should be at least 8x10 in size.

Why should you get a surface finish on your portraits?
Surface finish coats protect the print, allowing you to remove the glass
from the framed portraits, thereby reducing excessive weight and removing glare altogether.
Spray and brush textures add dimension and luxury to your portraits.

Painted backdrop or a natural background?
I can come to your house and set up a mini-studio with a painted backdrop,
or we can use the inside or outside of your home, or another outdoor location as the background.
What better way to show you or your family's personality?

Casual or formal clothes?
In group portraits, solid colors harmonize better than plaids, stripes, or bold prints.
Cool colors (blue, green, grey, and black) tend to recede, letting your face dominate the frame.
Warm colors (red, orange) come forward and compete with faces for attention.

Color or Black-and-White?
Color portraits are preferred more often, but Black-and-White portraiture
has a timeless quality and tends to be much more artistic.
