Passport photos for the United States and foreign countries must meet specifications and requirements by that country’s government. Each country has their own specifications, so a photo that works for one country will not necessarily work for another, and your application will likely be rejected.

Passport, visa, and citizenship application photos may have different specifications, depending on the country.
Please identify the use of the photo so we can give you the correct print.

Canadian Passport (or any other country other than U.S.)

Canadian passport photos must be taken by a commercial photographer or professional studio. Luke Photography is on the preferred list of commercial photographers by the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Two identical, unaltered photo prints must be submitted with your passport application.
Bring the current Canadian specifications with you to your appointment.

We have the specifications for many foreign countries…if you need the photos for a country other than Canada, please identify the country.

Canadian Passport photos: $45 per person - two unaltered prints

Canadian Visa photos:  $50 per person - two unaltered prints, and digital file

U.S. Passport

U.S. passport photos must measure 2 inches x 2 inches with a completely white background. Head size in the photo must be between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches in height from the crown of the head to the bottom of the chin. Facial angle should be directly at the camera, with a neutral expression.
Two identical, unaltered photo prints must be submitted with your passport application.

U.S. Passport photos: $45 per person - two unaltered prints

U.S. Immigration photos: $50 per person - two unaltered prints, and digital file
